Extended Preview Of Battlestar Galactica Vol 1 : Memorial...11-26-2013
Dynamite Entertainment has sent us an extended preview of the Dan Abnett / Andy Lanning run on Battlestar Galactica as the first volume Memorial comes out tomorrow. The writing team has become known for their space adventures having worked with both the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Legion of Superheroes, so it’s cool to see their take on a Sci-Fi cult classic. For more on the trade, you can check it out here.

We believe the videos point to a Battlestar Galactica reboot.
Here's what we know: It is not an alternate-reality game (ARG). It's a film or TV series. And the buzz has been in development for three years.

X-Men director Bryan Singer has been working on a film version bridging the gap between the original series and the reboot for more than a decade. In 2011, he announced he had found a screenwriter and the project was moving forward. (However, earlier this year, he seemed to have put his plans on hold to return to the X-Men franchise after his low-performing Jack the Giant Killer.)

SDCC Announcement – Tony Lee Writes New Battlestar Galactica Miniseries, Spotlights Origin of Fan-Favorite Character Starbuck   7-15-2013
July 15, 2013, Mt. Laurel, NJ: Dynamite proudly announces that the #1 New York Times bestselling author Tony Lee (Doctor Who, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Superboy) will spotlight the origin of a beloved sci-fi character in the upcoming Battlestar Galactica: Starbuck four-issue miniseries, based on the NBCUniversal television show. The Starbuck miniseries is based on the classic 1978 version of Battlestar Galactica and is licensed through the NBCUniversal Television Consumer Products Group.

Tony Lee will bring the science fiction sensibilities honed on such comics as Doctor Who, and Star Trek to the Battlestar Galactica franchise, exploring a fan-favorite character immortalized on television by actor Dirk Benedict. Lt. Starbuck, a likable rogue who serves as a Viper pilot aboard the spacefaring battleship, is a character with more than enough charisma and innate heroism to carry his own solo series. “I’ve always liked the scoundrels,” says Lee. “Han Solo and Starbuck taught me a lot about life between them, so I probably owe a whole load of broken relationships and split lips during my teen years to them both."

Lee continues, “When Dynamite came to me with a suggestion to do a Starbuck story, I jumped at the opportunity. Bar the fact that he was an amnesiac child after the attack on Umbra, we don’t know much about

 Katee Sackhoff : Interview...6-15-2013
Actress Katee Sackhoff does it big. With Sexy Evil Genius under her belt, the return of A&E’s Longmire and the new Riddick with Vin Diesel on the way, Sackhoff has a full plate – and a lot of great experiences to tell. Here, she talks with me about moments from the set, her experience in action roles and her dreams for the future.

The new season of Longmire premiered in May. What’s it all about?

Longmire is a present-day western that takes place in Wyoming in a small town called Absaroka County. It’s about a sheriff who’s very conservative and does things by the book. My character is from Philadelphia, so she does things the way she would do them in the big city. It’s a great show in the sense that it provides the audience with a mix of procedural and serial television. If somebody wants to come in and watch the show right now, they don’t need to know what’s going on, but for the audience that has been along for the ride the entire time, there’s enough story material to make it a nice mix.

What has the filming been like?...

Exclusive Interview: Katee Sackhoff on Sexy Evil Genius
Is there anyone you’re hoping they can get for that?
Oh my god, yeah, there’s a slew. There’s such a slew. I’m such a few fan of Milla [Jovovich]. I’m a huge fan of Kate Beckinsale. Sigourney Weaver gets me excited. Angelina Jolie… There’s just so many women that do tough really well. Actually, there’s not so many, there’s a handful, but I think that if we can get that handful we’re going to have a great movie.

Described as a ballsy, beautiful badass, Molly knows how to get to the truth and isn’t afraid to ruffle a few feathers to do so.Trucco will play Molly’s older brother, Billy, who is married to her BFF Nessa (played by Marta Milans). The actor’s recent TV credits include arcs on Revenge, How I Met Your Mother and Castle, and a co-starring role on USA Network’s Fairly Legal.

Listen to Edward James Olmos awesomely perform the original Battlestar Galactica’s closing narration...1-25-2013
One thing show creator Ron Moore didn't bring over from the original Battlestar Galactica TV series to his critically acclaimed Syfy remake was the show's original ending narration. But clearly at one point he was thinking about including it, because the By Your Command Facebook page dug up this recording of Edward James Olmos, who of course played the hard-drinkin' Commander Adama, performing the dialogue. It was probably a bit too hokey for Moore's supremely dark vision of the show, but it's still fun to see. Er, hear.

Canada's Tricia Helfer is ready to soar...1-8-2013
Helfer credits the Battlestar scripts for the show's success. "It was a smartly written show that tackled some pretty heavy subject matter."While fans associate her with the show, Helfer is happy casting directors don't. "I'm a lot different than Six. I made her more precise and slinky and talk a bit different than me. Slower and more calculated," she recalled. "I was making a character. So when I walk into a room to read for [a part as] a lawyer, it's not like they're looking at Six."Having experienced the demands of working on a TV series, Helfer is anxious to try a big studio movie. "In many ways, the fast and furious can be exhilarating and forces you to go with your gut more, but I would like the liberty of having the time prepping," she explained. "Sitcom hours are silly easy compared to drama. Whenever an actor on a sitcom complains, I feel like smacking them!"

Actress Tricia Helfer took some time on the red carpet at the HSUS gala to chat with us about her animal rescue work, plans for building an eco dream home, almost vegetarian diet and feelings as a Canadian about the annual the seal hunt.We particularly loved her strong words about the highly controversial seal hunt that takes place in her home country each year. Helfer had never publicly commented on the subject before, but was perfectly happy to make her position clear. She told us, “I do think it’s completely asinine and barbaric and, and in this day and age there is no reason for it. So I have no problem saying I’m against it.”

The executive producers of Arrow have dug up another DC character to add to their ever-growing roster and this time it is James Callis (Battlestar Galactica) as The Dodger (via TV Guide). Dynamite Entertainment announced a number of new titles prior to and during New York Comic Con, helmed by heavyweights like Mark Waid, Rick Remender, Garth Ennis and Andy Diggle, but the publisher went out of this world to tap talent for the renewal of its classic "Battlestar Galactica" series.

Abnett, Lanning board 'Battlestar Galactica' revival
Dust off your old-school Cylon action figures. Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning are bringing the original Battlestar Galactica backThe two comic-book scribes, whose sci-fi bona fides include Legion of Super-Heroes, Guardians of the Galaxy and the current Hypernaturals series, have signed on with Dynamite Entertainment to do an all-new book next year based on the original-recipe Battlestar Galactica from 1978. BSG was rebooted as a popular series in the 2000s, but Abnett and Lanning are focusing on the old ABC show that featured Apollo (Richard Hatch), Starbuck (Dirk Benedict), Adama (Lorne Greene) and the rest of the crew of the starship Galactica as it ventures toward Earth and avoids the evil alien cyborgs known as Cylons that are at war with the human colonies.

Katee Sackhoff Cast in The Female Expendables...10-7-2012
The Female Expendables, sometimes called "The Expenda-Belles" in certain circles, is moving forward very, very quickly. The counterpoint to Sylvester Stallone's boy's club action franchise was only
officially announced on August 20, with no director attached and a screenplay being developed by relative newcomer Dutch Southern, but casting is heavily underway with Gina Carano already attached and now joined by Katee Sackhoff, the woman who overcame fan stigma when she took on...

They used Autodesk Inventor to create the frame for the motion and asked a professional welding to put it together according to their specs.

WonderCon 2012: ‘Battlestar Galactica’ and the science of fiction

March 17, 2012
The acclaimed SyFy show “Battlestar Galactica” aired its final episode nearly two years ago but the deep-space (and deep-thinking) epic was still echoing at WonderCon, the pop-culture expo that opened Friday in Anaheim. The first day of the convention featured two Q&A sessions devoted to the show, one with Richard Hatch, who acted in both the original 1978 series and the re-imagined SyFy series that launched in 2004. The other panel featured Kevin Grazier, the scientific advisor for the more recent show.Grazier, who worked for a time at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory
